AKOTA JUBO UNNAYAN SANGSTHA (AJUS) is a non-profit organization that works to ensure safe drinking water and sanitation in Rajshahi District, Bangladesh. The organization was founded in 2007 by a group of community leaders who were concerned about the lack of access to safe drinking water and sanitation in the area.
Maximum area’s water of Rajshahi District is saline water including Iron and arsenic, so drinking water is not available everywhere. Maximum people of this district are collecting drinking water from far distance and different places. AKOTA JUBO UNNAYAN SANGSTHA (AJUS) tries to working various activities to ensure pure drinking water. Sometimes we are providing water purifying tablet, sometimes we serve pure drinking water for our beneficiaries.
We are doing base line survey, various formal and non-formal awareness raising training, meeting, seminar for community awareness creation about safe drinking water. We are providing those services from organization’s own fund.
We provided free or subsidies rate Ring-Slabs distribution, community awareness raising training program, seminar, and workshop about Hygiene sanitation. We are providing those services from organization’s own fund. In the year of 2007 to till date, AJUS disburse sanitary latrine to the beneficiaries of large quantity.
