AJUS Day Observation and Prize Giving Ceremony

AKOTA JUBO UNNAYAN SANGSTHA (AJUS) is a non-profit organization that works to promote the rights and well-being of marginalized communities in Bangladesh. In recent months, AJUS has been observing several important days including Transgender Day, World Human Rights Day and Mental Health Day to raise awareness about these issues and to provide support to those in need.

On Transgender Day, AJUS held a event to remember those Hijra and Transgender population who have made significant contributions to the community and society. The event also aimed to raise awareness about the challenges faced by transgender people in Bangladesh.

For World Human Rights Day, AJUS organized a workshop and rally to promote awareness of human rights. The workshop focused on the rights of marginalized communities, such as transgender people, refugees, and people with disabilities. The rally was an opportunity to showcase the diversity of Bangladesh and to celebrate the human rights of all people. A total of 150 participants attended the rally in different cities along with workshop.

AJUS also participated in the Mental Health Fair, organized by the Clinical Psychology department of the University of Dhaka. At the fair, AJUS set up a booth to provide psychosocial support and to distribute IEC/BCC materials to the beneficiaries. AJUS also organized a seminar on sustainable psycho-social support for displaced Rohingyas in crisis. A daylong seminar titled ‘Sustainable Psycho-Social Support for Displaced Rohingyas in Crisis” and a colorful rally was also arranged as a part of mental health day celebration.

These are just a few examples of the work that AJUS is doing to promote awareness and support for marginalized communities in Bangladesh. These events were all successful in raising awareness about important issues affecting marginalized communities AJUS is committed to working with these communities to ensure that their rights are respected and that they have access to the resources they need to thrive.
